This still life is inspired by Alain Resnai´s Muriel, a movie about memory. The painting shows an action that took place already, a past action concerning a cake which is not really defined or placed in a “pictorial” position. It intends to be a snapshot of the nostalgia and melancholy of the apparition of the past.
